How do I Share My Books?
Sharing your books is as simple as it is fun, and it costs you nothing to share the books you have at home with fellow members. The average American home has over 200 books on their shelves. In about 5 minutes you can easily enter 10 books into the web site, by using their ISBN# (International Standard Book Number). The ISBN# is found on most books printed in the mid 70's to the present, is located on copyright pages, and the back of most books. To share your books simply hit [Add a Book], input the ISBN# in the box, and your shared book will automatically be listed for others to request. When you renew, to keep the bookshelf endless, share 3 more previously read books. Every member is a part of America's BookShelf.
How Do The Books Get Shared?
You still keep the books at home. When a fellow member requests your book for reading you will receive a e-mail from America's Bookshelf letting you know that a self addressed pre-stamped bubble envelope is being sent to you, all you do is place the new stamped label that's provided, on the envelope, drop the requested book inside, and put it in the mail. It doesn't get any easier! Remember, the more books you share, the more books you can check out at a time (see chart above). You and your family will never go without a new book to read. Readers love to share, so let's get started!
How Much Does It Cost?
