America's BookShelf and its founders are concerned about the impact that all of us are making on Mother Earth. The BookShelf is proud to be an approved member with Co-op America.org, as well as being listed on their Green Pages. This distinction shows that we reach beyond contemporary practices while we address the needs of consumers, employees, communities, and the environment. With this being said, we want to inform you of the ways in which we are trying to be more thoughtful, and aware of how we conduct our business.
The office is run with as many recycled products as are available to us at this time. Envelopes that we send out are recycled and we hope that with a little care in opening them, our members will further their use for another purpose.
Each member takes an active part in helping the environment every time a book is shared. They assist in saving trees, which also reduces the impact that pulp and paper mills make on our ozone while also helping our rivers stay healthy.
America's BookShelf knows that with the shipping of books between our members, we as a company do leave an environmental footprint behind. To help counteract this, we purchase Renewable Energy Credits (Green Tags) from Native Energy. This company works on promoting and supporting the growth and acceptance of Green Energy.
All of us can counteract our personal footprints on the environment even in our daily life. Join us in our convictions.
